May 29 - We made it!!! I am extremely proud of all of you. You have worked hard this academic year. Be sure to finish up your final assignments given to you by your EP and/or your classroom teacher. Have a wonderful summer! I will scan and email your final papers, with my comments and evaluations, to you next week.
Final assignments - As the school year winds down to a close, you will need to have completed these assignments by June 2: compare/contrast essay, argumentative essay, and research paper. In addition, high school students need to have their essay finals on either The Scarlet Letter or Frankenstein completed and emailed to me by June 2.
Attendance - Students attending 6th-grade camp are still expected to have all of their assignments submitted or emailed to me by the due date.
MLA format - All final, typed papers will be in MLA format. There are many resources available to help with this. The classic reference material is the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (7th ed.). Here is the link to the video we saw in class today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22CPQoLE4U0
Here is the PowerPoint we saw in class on Friday, May 15. It's a great introduction/review of MLA formatting (PowerPoint created by Kelly Ann Kolar): MLA-Documentation-Module-7th-ed
A few words about social media: I do not accept Facebook friend requests or Google Circles/Plus invitations from students. While I care for all of you, I do not get involved in social media with students. This is my own personal policy. Thank you for understanding!
